Henry Schein Medical Systems, a provider of mature and cost efficient practice management and electronic medical records (EMR) systems, today announced the release of MicroMD EMR version 6.0. The new release is designed to enhance the physician experience by improving existing workflows and streamlining access to patient information.

Building on an advanced list of digital medical devices that provide direct input of results into MicroMD EMR, version 6.0 integrates with post spirometry and stress test devices. This connectivity eliminates the need for data entry and provides physicians with test results that are directly incorporated into MicroMD EMR.
The new release also includes more advanced SureScripts® connectivity. MicroMD EMR in cooperation with SureScripts, the largest network provider of e-prescribing services, connects practices to 95 percent of pharmacies nationwide. This connectivity enables practices to send prescriptions to pharmacies electronically and receive electronic refill requests from the pharmacies. As a result, patient safety is improved and providers save time through fewer phone calls and faxes.
